About Andrew

Andrew was born and raised in Davenport with 20+ years of blue-collar experience. He's running for Iowa House District 98 to fight for public education, clean water, and affordable healthcare.

He graduated from Davenport West High School and is the father of two teenage sons. The seat is currently held by Rep. Monica Kurth, who is not seeking re-election.

Fitzgerald has built his career in the skilled trades. He started working at age 14 and has since worked as a mechanic at Lujack's and in maintenance at Kraft, where he was a proud union member. He currently works as an automation technician at Invio Automation, helping advance manufacturing in the Quad Cities. Outside of work, he is an avid NASCAR enthusiast with experience in dirt-track and motorcycle road racing and has worked in motorsports media and photography.

Fitzgerald advanced through the June 2, 2026 Democratic primary and is focused on the everyday challenges facing District 98 families. His priorities include restoring public school funding and expanding career and technical education, strengthening healthcare access, supporting workers' rights and a higher minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and clean energy, and protecting clean water in the Quad Cities region.
