Constitutional Amendment 1
Vote NO on Amendment 1.
The Scott County Democrats do not support Amendment 1. It would take a two-thirds supermajority of the Legislature to ever raise income taxes on the wealthy or corporations — minority rule, written into Iowa’s constitution. It’s on the back of your ballot, right column.

2026 ballot questions, answered
Who are the Scott County Democrats endorsing in 2026?
For the November 3, 2026 general election the Scott County Democrats recommend Josh Turek for U.S. Senate, Christina Bohannan for Congress (Iowa’s 1st District), Rob Sand for Governor, and the full Democratic statewide ticket — Ryan Peterman, Taylor Wettach, John Norwood, Chris Jones and Nate Willems. Locally we recommend Tim Carr, Stephen Doerscher and Kevin Randle for the Board of Supervisors, Samuel Samara for County Treasurer and Toby Paone for County Recorder, plus every Democrat running for the Iowa Legislature in Scott County. The complete list, including nonpartisan races and judges, is on this page and in the downloadable PDF.
Which judges do the Scott County Democrats recommend retaining?
We recommend a YES vote to retain Court of Appeals Judge Sharon Soorholtz Greer and District Court Judges Jeffrey McDaniel, Elizabeth O’Donnell, Joel William Barrows, Mark Ray Lawson and Patrick A. McElyea. We take no position on the other judges on the ballot. Judges are on the back of your ballot, in the first column.
How should I vote on Iowa Amendment 1?
Vote NO. Amendment 1 would require a two-thirds supermajority of the Legislature to ever raise income taxes on the wealthy or corporations. It’s on the back of your ballot, right column. Read what Amendment 1 really does.
Can I just vote a straight Democratic ticket in Iowa?
No. Iowa eliminated straight-ticket voting in 2017, so there is no single “all Democrats” box. You have to vote in each race separately — that’s why this list is in ballot order. Don’t forget to turn your ballot over for the nonpartisan races, judges and Amendment 1.
How many Supervisors do I vote for?
Up to three. Scott County Supervisors are elected countywide, so every Scott County voter can vote for all three Democrats: Tim Carr, Stephen Doerscher and Kevin Randle.
Which State Senate and State House races are on my ballot?
That depends on your address. Each voter sees at most one State Senate race and one State House race. The Scott County Auditor posts every sample ballot style, and you can look up your precinct here.
When and where can I vote early in Scott County?
Early voting runs from Wednesday, October 14 through Monday, November 2, at the Scott County Administrative Center (600 W. 4th St., Davenport) and at satellite sites in Davenport, Bettendorf, Eldridge and LeClaire. You can use any satellite site, no matter which precinct you live in. See every site, day and hour.
