Karen Roebuck

Karen Roebuck is a daughter of the Midwest, a dedicated community servant, and a proud longtime resident of Davenport. A native of Dayton, Ohio, she was educated in Ohio’s public schools and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication from Wright State University. In 1993 Karen and her family relocated to Davenport, where she began building a life rooted in service to her community.

For more than three decades she has worked alongside students, families, educators, artists, and community leaders throughout the Quad Cities. During her career with Eastern Iowa Community Colleges she served in several roles supporting students and expanding access to educational opportunity, and she has also worked with Head Start’s Parent and Teacher Program and served as a substitute teacher. She is currently a licensed life and health insurance agent.

Karen is a strong advocate for the performing arts and founded Breath of Encouragement, a nonprofit that provides positive programming through the arts and education, giving local artists the chance to perform and to gain experience in production and stagecraft. She volunteers with the Adler Theatre and serves on the Regional Development Authority Board and the Illinois-Iowa Independent Living Board. She is immediate past president of the Davenport Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and a member of The Links, Incorporated.

Iowa House District 94 takes in part of northern and central Scott County — including much of northeast Davenport, the city of Eldridge, and part of western Bettendorf. Karen’s greatest joy is being the proud mother of two college graduates, Marvin and Marvina.
