About Steve
Steve Doerscher is a journeyman ironworker and union tradesman running for the Scott County Board of Supervisors — bringing blue-collar roots, a long-term vision, and a working-class perspective to the Board. A 47-year-old Davenport native and graduate of Davenport Central High School, he and his wife Erin have been married for 25 years and together raised their daughter, Aubrey.
Doerscher began his career in ironwork in 2001 and joined the Ironworkers Union in 2013, completing his apprenticeship at the top of his class in 2017. In 2021, he and Erin bought the home she grew up in, bringing the family back to Davenport. Today he is a member of Ironworkers Local 111 in Rock Island, where he has served as Iowa Political Coordinator since 2024. Raised in a family of farmers, he still puts on his tools every day and leads his crew at the jobsite by example.
“I’m not a lawyer. I’m not a millionaire. I’m an everyday guy,” Doerscher says — and he is running with the working people of Scott County in mind. His priorities include energy reliability, clean water for every neighborhood from Davenport to the rural routes, and fair wages and job security for the manufacturing, health care, construction, and service workers who keep the county running.
