Overflow Crowd at Odd-Year Caucus
The packed hall at the Bettendorf Public Library on Tuesday, March 18, was full of Democrats wanting change and wanting to know what to do to bring about that change.
A number of issues were discussed, including two resolutions to be handed on to the next convention.
The 2024 election in Scott County has been fully analyzed, and the numbers showed that, had a few more people voted, the results of local elections would have been different. The challenge now is to get people out to vote as too many did not vote in the 2024 election.
One highlight of the evening was an appearance by Christina Bohannan, who spoke about how the rule of law has always prevailed in the U.S., giving a hopeful note to many concerned about the direction the U.S. is going.
All attendees were invited to join committees, to volunteer for summer parades, and to attend the next Central Committee meeting on Tuesday, April 8, at 7 p.m. at the UFCW 431 Building, 2411 W. Central Park Ave., Davenport.
